utah and et cetera
For my recent bday we went road-tripping across the desert to far off places. Our final destination was Moab, UT, with stops to Las Vegas, Bryce Canyon Nat’l Park, and then Vegas again.
Our first layover in Vegas
Then back on the road to “The Show Me State”. OK, I don’t know if that’s right*…
We explored Arches Nat’l Park and set up our base camp in Moab.
Turret Arch
Hiking around the base of and into South Window Arch
Then a long hike up to the Delicate Arch viewing area
The next day we were able to actually hike up to Delicate Arch. Side note: if you are ever at Delicate Arch during sunset, make sure you better not get in the way of anybody’s photography. Sunset is apparently the best time to photograph the Delicate Arch. The crowds are tough there. They boo’d a little girl for getting too close to the arch. Not even kidding.
Balanced Rock and the Three Gossips
This is the arch I discovered. I named it Tiny-ass Arch
We also took a Hummer tour and met some rich, drunk Utahians
On the way home we made stops in Bryce Canyon Nat’l Park and a couple nights in LV, again.
*The Beehive State, actually. For reals.
